From the age of four, I have always loved dancing and knew I wanted to take dancing up as a career. At the age of 15 I joined a semi-professional cabaret company performing in clubs and shows a few times a week. When I was 17 I went to a dance teachers training college in Manchester for two years and qualified as a teacher with the I.S.T.D. We studied ballet, tap, modern-jazz, theatre modern and national dance to an advanced level. From here I auditioned for a dance company in Madrid and won a place, realising my dream of dancing professionally. There were lots of opportunities for me and I continued to dance with various different groups enjoying sightseeing at the same time.
Since then I had a break from dancing to have a family but took some part-time dance teaching positions with other schools. Once I knew teaching was for me I set up a couple of classes in Southcote and basically things have snowballed from there. I teach all the classes myself and love every minute of it . Watching the children learn and progress through the grades is wonderful.
